Club Modernization Pilot Program
The Lindsay Skating Club is excited to participate in the Skate Ontario's Club Modernization Program. This program provides the Club with mentorship and support through new initiatives that combine key elements of on-ice coaching with off-ice physical literacy. Hand in hand, these 2 key elements, on-ice, and off-ice programming, will develop the skater’s physical literacy, athletic development, and a renewed passion for the sport.

STARSkate
Figure Skate programming
What will you learn?
STARSkate is Skate Canada’s nationally recognized figure skating program for skaters who have completed CanSkate Stage 6 or have equivalent skating ability. This program offers opportunities for skaters to develop figure skating in Skills, Freeskate, and Ice Dance.
STARSkate introduces skaters to the fundamentals of figure skating through a progressive learning system designed to build confidence, creativity, athleticism and strong technical skills. Skaters have opportunities to participate in assessments, performances and competitions while progressing at their own pace.
What can you expect?
A fun, challenging and supportive training environment! STARSkate sessions are coached by NCCP-certified Skate Canada coaches in a team-teaching environment where skaters receive ongoing instruction, feedback and guided practice throughout their sessions.
As part of the Lindsay Skating Club’s Club Modernization Program, STARSkate programming also incorporates physical literacy training to help skaters develop strength, balance, flexibility, coordination and overall athletic development both on and off the ice.
Skaters will build independence, confidence and goal-setting skills while enjoying opportunities for personal achievement, assessment and competition in a positive athlete-focused environment.
Assessments and recognition opportunities are used to celebrate skater progress and accomplishments throughout the season.
